Technology

With such a variety of work both professionally and what I do on my own, I'm exposed to a quite a bit of technology in the web development world. Admittedly no single person can know everything there is to know about everything in this industry, and I make no such claim either. I am, however, pretty satisfied with the amount of technology I've gotten to work with in the past ten years or so.

What I wanted to list here was the highlights of many of those technologies and where I've used them. It's one thing to list off a dozen acronyms and call it a day. It's also another thing to just copy/paste the definition of that technology and claim to know it, too. No, I want to show decent, real-world examples of what I've used these technologies for and hopefully give someone else out there a better understanding of what they mean or even inspire them to learn more about it.

Technology Examples

This list is going to be a constant work in progress, so it will start of small and grow larger as I have time to spend on it.

RSS Feeds
RSS feeds, or really simple syndication, have been around for longer than people realize, and have become a bigger hit with the explosion of the blogosphere and portal sites like iGoogle. Being able to create your own RSS feeds is a good thing to know, since they allow you to share updates and information from your website or other source that people can access via many different RSS feed readers.
