Personal Portfolio

Here you can find out more details about the sites in my personal portfolio. These are the sites that I've done on my own time and for my own desires. Find out when they were started, and why they're important to me, my friends, and my family.

Each site has its own style and feel, and I've tried to do many different things with each. It may take me a while to note everything that's different with each in these descriptions, but I'll try.

Site Details

  • This was the first site I started back in 2001, just before finishing school. It began as a way to test and showcase Java Applets I was writing at the time, and branched off into bigger things.

  • Nighthawks Hockey Online was my chance to combine two great passions in my life, web development and ice hockey. It's been my public showcase for a lot of interesting features, and I've put more time into this site than all the others combined.

  • After a lot of time and work on the the hockey website, this was my next site. Even though it started in early 2004, the majority of the site was constructed in 2006. Kris & Cindy highlights all the favorite moments and memories of my wife and I.

  • The newest labour of love in my collection of sites, this one features everything we love about Maui and is designed to share our experiences and memories of the island with anyone who feels the same. It was the first site of it's size that I worked on through a formal web design approach and not just from a programming perspective.

  • A site devoted to selling all my best photos from our trips to Maui. Photo prints from 4 x 6 up to poster-sized 24 x 36 are available, as well as digital formats, too. It is hosted as a SmugMug Pro account and I hope it is successful in bringing the Aloha of Maui to more people and in their everyday lives.

  • My online photography portfolio site featuring samples of my work, places I like to shoot, camera gear I use, and a few other things. I was inspired to create this site during my time working on Maui Wall Candy. As research for that, I had come across so many great sites for photographers and their portfolios, I thought it would be worthwhile to create one myself.

  • A site about me, sort of. It is a single page website that showcases how different parts of my life have been expressed and shared across the web through the different websites listed on this page. It features daily updates including my most recent photos on Flickr, updates from Twitter, and my recent posts from my different blogs. It even has a custom search engine powered by Google to find anything on any of my sites.

  • A simple blog featuring our rabbits, Sky and Star. Inspired by Disapproving Rabbits, I hope to just have a little fun with posting photos and captions now and then. Nothing major under the covers as far as web technology goes, but it does feature a custom Blogger template based on a prototype site template I created first.

  • A mini-site to promote my first Google Gadget. The Maui Photo Day Calendar is a simple daily calendar in the form of a Google Gadget that serves up a different photo from Maui each day, along with the current month/date and a small caption. All photos were taken by me on my annual trips to Maui and are hosted on Flickr. Larger versions of the photo can be viewed and fellow Flickr members can also leave comments as well.
